It is always hard to know exactly what to expect in an interview. Most of the time you are “meeting” the person for the first time. You may have “met” them over the phone and are now meeting them for the first time.
Sometimes it can be a bit intimidating or awkward at first during the interview, because you are unsure what to expect in the initial phase of the interviewing process.
One of things that will help here is to try in advance to find out as much as possible about the people that you will be interviewing with over the phone or face to face. Do your research with friend, professional peers and using the internet.
7 Types of Interview Questions to Ask Employer Employers
- Rapport building questions to help the interviewer become more comfortable with you, to the point that they can easily envision you working in their organization.
- Questions that highlight the depth of knowledge and understanding you have regarding their organizations.
- Probing in-depth questions relative to gaining insight further into the organizational structure.
- Questions relative to more in-depth information regarding the position
- Cultural questions that will give you in indication if this is an organization that is in alignment with your core values and your professional values.
- Confirm that they have fully appreciated and understood your professional background in terms of the value you bring to future of the organization.
- Clarify what the specific hiring process is going forward. This is the point at which you proclaim you interest in the position, working for them and in their organization.
